Teeth whitening (Bleaching) can be done with two different methods;

The first of these methods is the whitening process performed by professionals in the dental clinic with high concentration whitening agents (35%-40% hydrogen peroxide), which we call office type teeth whitening.

The second method is the at-home teeth whitening method with personalized trays prepared with lower concentration whitening agents (10%-15% hydrogen peroxide).

Office type teeth whitening has a rapid effect because more intense whitening agents are used. After a procedure that takes approximately 45 minutes, the color of the teeth can be lightened by 1-2 shades. In home teeth whitening, less intense gels are applied for approximately 1 hour a day for 2-6 weeks. While long-term application with low-concentration gels has a slow effect, they have a long-term effect because they provide better penetration into the teeth.

The advantage of office type teeth whitening is to get quick results, while the advantage of home type teeth whitening is to get more permanent results. Therefore, for effective and permanent teeth whitening, these two methods should be combined and applied.

CAN EVERY COLORATION BE REMOVED BY TEETH WHITENING?

Discolorations on our teeth that occur due to external factors or as we age can be removed by teeth whitening, but if the cause of the discoloration is a tooth decay or a trauma, no results can be obtained with tooth whitening. These problems must be treated first.
